Managing Director of Close Credit Management Retires

Robin Birkett, managing director of Sheffield company Close Credit Management has retired.
Responsible for giving the company an entirely different outlook, Robin’s time at Close Credit Management heralded many changes, including the strategic move into consumer collections, the creation of a dedicated marketing division and two web-based online businesses.
Robin (57) interrupted retirement plans at 55 to spend more than two years at the Meadowhall based company, following three years as Divisional Director within the Rothschilds Group and 30 years at Lloyds TSB as Divisional Managing Director and a board member of Lloyds TSB Asset Finance.
He said: “I am pleased to have been able to contribute to Close Credit Management’s development during my time here. The company is in fantastic shape and I am delighted to leave at a time when the business is set to enjoy spectacular growth.”
Steve Baker takes on the role of Chief Executive at Close Credit Management, having previously working for Britannic, G E Capital and HBOS.
