Close Credit Management

Braving flames

April 2007

Seven brave credit management staff have raised £1,276 for the charity Neurocare, after braving flames and taking part in a firewalk.

Staff from Meadowhall-based Close Credit Management (CCM), decided to take the risk and take part in the stunt after the company adopted Neurocare as one of its charities.

Staff from CCM, including their Group Operations Director, Martin Smith, and Head of Marketing, Anne Roberts, took part in the walk at Abbeydale Sports Club. The money will be used for Neurocare’s ‘Brainwave Appeal’. The appeal has already brought one SonoWand brain scanner to the city and it is now raising the funds needed to buy a further two scanners for use during surgery at Sheffield Children's Hospital and the city’s Royal Hallamshire Hospital.

Anne said: “It was quite an experience taking part in the firewalk – definitely mind over matter. We all did the walk successfully – without burning our feet. It was a great experience and we have raised a fantastic amount for such a worthy cause.”
Neurocare is currently raising funds for it’s £1/2 million ‘Brainwave Appeal’. The campaign has already brought one SonoWand brain scanner to the city, but now it is raising the funds needed to buy the last two scanners for use during surgery at Sheffield Children's Hospital and the city’s Royal Hallamshire Hospital.
